Just over two weeks away!

I cannot believe its just over two weeks away. The trip begins on March 15. Im not sure where everyone is at on preperations, I believe not everyone has made the fundraising goals yet. It is a big task to try to raise $1300 to be able to go on a mission trip. You wonder sometimes, I have another blog on my career change I'm trying to do right now, and interestingly enough that blog has had 3 times as many hits (visitors). Why wouldn't the opportunity to go and take the word of God to another country have more interest then a story about some midlifer career changing pilot wannabe?
My daughter is excited about this trip, she was excited about cooking cookies and selling them during the bake sale. She knew what she was doing for this trip is just as important as any thing else. She is a part of this trip, she is a part of the work of God and expanding the Kingdom of God!
Thank you to all of our supporters, you too are a part of Gods work, and you too are expanding the Kingdom of God! THANK YOU!
We still need supporters! We need some people who want to help build the KINGDOM OF GOD. Are you ready to make a difference?
Spread this blog address to as many people as you can.
Ask them to become prayer supporters of the Honduras mission trip.
If God has bless you, and you can support someone financially Contact me and ask me who needs financial help so we can ensure everyone can GO!

Father as we reach the end of the planning stages, I ask you to bless us all and bless this trip, and I ask for your guidance, and direction. Amen

Its not about the cookie!

We had a good ole fashioned bake sale this past Sunday in an effort to raise funds for the mission trip. It was fun, we had a good amount of sweets to offer up! Several types of cookies, orange brownies (or would that be orangies?), and of course we cannot forget the “stick to your teeth cookies”, and cakes supplied by Teresa Devlin who is still here with us, and pecan pies baked fresh by Mrs. Stone. Misse along with her friend Michelle brought some breakfast tacos too!
It was a good time. We had a pretty good turn out as well. Our grace point family donated nearly $500 dollars...WOW! Thank you to every one who participated and to everyone who donated...God bless you all!

Things are starting to come along with planning. We have teams together for construction, some for crafts, and others for drama. It’s under a month away now until departure time. It’s very exciting and very scary as well! For some this will be a first time trip out of the country, and a first time mission trip. Remember, your prayer support is still very much needed. Not only for the 18 of us going, but for Teresa and for the children.

Are YOU Ready?

Welcome, I'm so excited about this mission trip to Honduras. I look forward to being able to share with you what our God is doing in the lives of his servants, and in the lives of the citizens of Honduras. I hope you visit here often, and become a partner in this trip and the Orphanage itself. YES...you can be a part of it too. Your Prayer support is just as important as the people who will be going, and those already working in Honduras. So join with us and lets see what our most powerful GOD has in store for us!!!

A Mission trip to Honduras...

First a little background, on where we are going, and who we will be supporting. I will be back soon to continue telling you more about the trip!

Teresa Devlin arrived in June 1997 as a foreign missionary in her mother’s home country of Honduras. Teresa’s ministry began in Tegucigalpa, the Capital of Honduras, where she worked under the guidance of Rev. Larry Elliott, a missionary with the Southern Baptist International Mission Board. In March ’98 she moved to La Ceiba where she has created a Conservatory of Music for the youth and children of the north coast. It was in 1991 that God was calling her to join Him in His work in Honduras that includes the Garífuna people. She is supported by numerous individuals and Faith Promise donations from Grace Point. Grace Point works along side of Teresa to set policy and give guidance for administrative matters. Teresa currently coordinates schedules activities at the Conservatory and is working to help start an orphanage just north of La Ceiba with the support of Grace Point, other churches and individurals in the U.S. and Honduras. When finished over 100 children will be able to be housed at the orphanage.
