Tis the season...

Black Friday took a grim turn when a Wal~Mart employee in New York died after bargain hunters broke down the doors to the store.

The 34-year-old male employee was pronounced dead one hour after shoppers broke down the doors to the shopping center in Valley Stream, N.Y., and knocked him down at around 5 a.m. Friday, police said.

"He was bum-rushed by 200 people," Jimmy Overby, the man's 43-year-old co-worker told the New York Daily News. "They took the doors off the hinges. He was trampled and killed in front of me. They took me down too ... I literally had to fight people off my back."

That was a report in today's news...I loved Christmas as a child, I also loved Christmas as a parent of young Children, But I am starting to not like the season as much these days. It is not the CHRISTmas season anymore, its the winter holidays (as the world like to call it now). It's the time of spending more money then you have, it's a time of greed and selfishness. Sometimes to me that's what it feels like it has become.

As CHRIST followers lets all be very aware of what the season is, it is a celebration of the birth of our Lord and Saviour Jesus Christ! Lets remember to Praise him throughout this next month...Merry Christmas and Happy holidays!

There is no God...part two

I posted earlier about an ad campaign in the UK, well now its coming to America. Again a group of lost people The American Humanist Association unveiled the $40,000 holiday ad campaign Tuesday.
If there was ever a Time in history where Christians really need to start re-evaluating their priorities...its now!

$40k spent on plastering a sign on a bus...Supposedly 83% of Americans are Christians. Can you find them? Here is a challenge to you...I know not many people read this blog, because I can see by the counter how many visit here. However, I propose us CHRISTIANS show who we are, I'm curious to see if the 250 million Christians can show up in Support of God. There may have only been 365 hits on this blog, but each of those who visit here know another Christian, right? Pass this blog along to your friends, and lets see if us Christians can do what these two groups of non-believers have done. they are up to $153,000

Want to contribute? mail to...Yes there is a God campaign c/o Tim Heibel Grace Point Church 9750 Huebner Rd. San Antonio, Texas 78240

I have no new news from Honduras right now. I ask that you keep The Orphanage in your prayers. Pray for the safety of the construction workers, Pray that God prepares those who will be running it, pray for those overseeing the project.
and Pray for the successful completion of the project and that many young lives will be touched by this over the years...Thank you

From one pumpkin to another

From one pumpkin to another!!!!!!!
A woman was asked by a coworker, 'What is it like to be a Christian?'
The coworker replied, 'It is like being a pumpkin.' God picks you from the patch, brings you in, and washes all the
dirt off of you. Then He cuts off the top and scoops out all the yucky stuff.
He removes the seeds of doubt, hate, and greed. Then He carves you a new smiling face and puts His light inside of
you to shine for all the world to see.'

There is no God

Atheists Plan Anti-God Ad Campaign on Buses
A news story reported in London

LONDON — London buses have God on their side — but not for long, if atheists have their way.

The sides of some of London's red buses will soon carry ads asserting there is "probably no God," as nonbelievers fight what they say is the preferential treatment given to religion in British society.

Organizers of a campaign to raise funds for the ads said Wednesday they received more than $113,000 in donations, almost seven times their target, in the hours since they launched the project on a charity Web site. Supporters include Oxford University biologist who donated $9,000.

The money will be used to place posters on 30 buses carrying the slogan "There's probably no God. Now stop worrying and enjoy your life." The plan was to run the ads for four weeks starting in January, but so much money has been raised that the project may be expanded.

Wow, Within hours they raised $113,000. We could build 11 buildings at the orphanage with that amount of money!

Train up a Child

Proverbs 22:6 Train a child in the way he should go,
and when he is old he will not turn from it.

I recently began making some connections with old friends from High School. Aside from feeling really old when I start thinking about when I was in high school (class of 86) I have become so encouraged by some of them! You see we grew up in a Christian School (TCCA Twin City Christian Acadamy). While I was there (8th grade through 11th) we had a Principle who was such an awesome man of God to this day I still think about him. I even had the opportunity to visit him just a few months ago, that was so nice.

However not all the stories are stories of perfect lives. I myself fell away from God for a long time. My life was a rollercoaster for several years. I know some of the others I went to school with had similar experiences. Many, most of those have found there way home to a life with Christ. There is one who has been a part of church planting. He has helped with building 3 churches. Another has Gone to Africa to serve, and is very active in his Church along with his whole family. Another is active in his churches Music, and deaf ministries, along with his family, another works in full time ministry with her Husband, How about staying home and home schooling your 6 children and teaching them about God, that is a full time ministry in my book, or what about Teachers at a Christian schools (several elementary, and college level), Or a couple/Family who opens their home as foster parents and teaches these children the Love of God, two more met in high school, married and eventually became Missionaries to the Philippines. They run an Orphanage, and there are many more. The interesting thing is the school was very small. Each class/grade had less then 30 students. It is so amazing to me that so many people are still sold out to a life of full devotion to Jesus Christ...Why? Because they were trained in the way they should go. Most of us had bumps along the way. I personally went through many tough times, but even when I felt alone and lost I always knew in the back of my head that I wasn't alone. I knew God was with me, waiting for me to cry out to Him.

I hope and pray that there are more people out there who will continue to see the value in training a child. There are so many children around the world who need Love, who need a Home, who need to hear about our Loving father. I wish we could reach all of them, but all we can do is reach out to as many as we can.

Just think about what one little school in some little podunk town in the Midwest has done. Those listed above are changing the world. They are spread out over the Country and in other countries. All those listed graduated within 4 years of each other. This same school/Church has been building families and children for years. So what might seem like an impossible task really isn't. Changing the life of just ONE child is a success. Here you have ONE of those kids that was trained the way they should go now working toward building a home for 300. Think about how this keeps multiplying and all of a sudden you see how wonderful and amazing working for the Kingdom of God really is.

Please pray for this mission! For the children who need a home. For those trying to build a future. For Gods blessings

Planning

Planning for the 2009 Honduras Mission trip is underway! There are no details yet, but I know there was plans for the first building at the orphanage to be complete by spring 2009, which is when the next trip will take place. I sure hope it will be done when the team arrives! Grace point Church sends its members out into the world every year. We go to places like Honduras, Morocco, Brazil, and Africa, but that's not all. Those who are called to go pay for their trip out of their own pockets. Last year 18 people chose to go to Honduras. I was one who went.

I will never forget my experience there! I hope to go again this year. I cannot wait to see the progress on the orphanage, and I pray that it will be ready to receive it's new residents.

Being a part of this ministry is wonderful. Would you like to be a part of it? Would you like to GO? Even if you cannot go yourself you can still be a part of building God's Kingdom

Many of those who would like to GO to Honduras have to raise their own funds. The spring 2008 trip cost $1300. This was before the sharp rise in airfare. I'm not sure what the Spring 2009 cost will be yet, but I' sure it will be more. If you would like to sponsor someone there is an address to the right where you can send donations. If you would like to contribute to the orphanage itself there is also directions for that. Please prayerfully consider how you could become a part of building the Kingdom!
I look forward to bringing you news as it develops. Thank you for reading and please share this site with your friends and Family. Thank You

Matthew 19:14 Jesus said, "Let the little children come to me, and do not hinder them, for the kingdom of heaven belongs to such as these."
